An airport rail link is a service providing passenger rail transport from an airport to a nearby city.
There are a number of different types of train service between an airport and the nearest city, such as regular public trains, dedicated special trains or driver-less (automated) people movers and light-rail trains.
Direct links operate straight to the airport terminal, while other systems require an intermediate use of automated people movers or a shuttle bus service.
World-wide, there are currently 187 rail links to 142 airports; a further 388 links are planned, being developed or under construction.
World Train Travel will feature airport rail links as the operators join us, making it easier for travel agents and individual travellers to buy tickets before the leisure or business trip begins.
